COMPETITION DETAILS
IEEE Big Data 2022 Cup: Privacy-preserving Matching of Encrypted Images
The task of the competition is to check whether the encoding/scrambling techniques that the competition organizers (MyLED & QED Software companies) use in their image-based monitoring systems are sufficiently secure and robust. We provide the competition participants with a (training) set of examples, whereby each example consists of a pair: the visible image (taken from the public domain) and its encoded (scrambled) version. Then, on a separate set of such visible-scrambled pairs (test/verification set), the participants have to decide (Yes/No) whether the scrambled file contains the visible image or not.
Awards:
+ 2000 USD for the winning solution (+ the cost of IEEE Big Data 2022 registration)
+ 1000 USD for the 2nd place solution (+ the cost of IEEE Big Data 2022 registration)
+ 500 USD for the 3rd place solution (+ the cost of IEEE Big Data 2022 registration)
The winners and other selected best-performing participants will be invited to submit papers to the special session / workshop held at the IEEE Big Data 2022 conference (published in the proceedings).
Enroll to the competition and submit your solution(s):

SPECIAL SESSION DETAILS
1. 40 Years of Rough Sets from Big Data Perspective:
Our aim is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the theory of Rough Sets by showing its connections to the major Big Data challenges. Rough Set methods are known to produce simple and interpretable decision models, coping efficiently with various aspects of data deficiencies and complexities. Rough Set paradigms are also used to scale data-based computations in various scenarios. The authors of paper submissions are therefore encouraged to look into the history of Rough Sets from the Big Data perspective, as well as introduce new Rough-Set-inspired approaches and solutions in the fields of Decision Making, Data Mining and Big Data.
Submit your paper (IEEE 2-column format up to 10 pages):
https://wi-lab.com/cyberchair/2022/bigdata22/scripts/submit.php?subarea=SP08
2. Information Granulation in Data Science and Scalable Computing:
Our aim is to continue (the 8th time @ IEEE Big Data!) investigations of connections between Information Granulation / Granular Computing and Big Data. Granular Computing is a general approach for the usage of data blocks, clusters, etc. to build efficient computational and decision models for complex data-based systems. The authors of paper submissions are encouraged to report new foundations and applications of Information Granulation / Granular Computing in relation to other computing paradigms, as well as Big Data Science, Big Data Processing, Soft Computing, Intelligent Systems and Human-Computer Interaction.
Submit your paper (IEEE 2-column format up to 10 pages):

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PAPERS TO BOTH SESSIONS - OCTOBER 7
DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING SOLUTIONS TO COMPETITION - OCTOBER 7
